Iran documentary 'Instagramer' has been set to vie at 2018 International Documentary Festival of Ierapetra in Greece.
Directed by Sina Kianpour, the documentary will compete with 42 films from various countries at the panorama of all the world section of the festival.
The 80-minute flick investigates the modern life and technology and how stars shape on Instagram.
A brief synopsis of the film reads, 'the new world, the new media, the new stars... we live in an era of technology when everyone can gain fame through their mobile phones; the fame that is specified to our cyber world. There is no good reason for the starhood of these new stars.'
The film which premiered at the competition section of 11th Cinema Verite (Film Festival) in Iran is scheduled to screen on Sunday August 5, 2018.
The International Documentary Festival on Ierapetra's (IDFI) main purpose is the promotion of art and documentary making, presenting a multifaceted universal film program during the event.
One of the important aims of the festival is the promotion and the diffusion of documentary production, as well as the cooperation and the development of sprit of friendship amongst the artists.
The 5th edition of IDFI which started August 04 is set to end on August 9, 2018.
